London, Wednesday 20 January 2016 – Singapore-based investment company Temasek announces the establishment and inaugural meeting of the Temasek European Advisory Panel (TEAP); a new regional panel bringing together eminent business leaders and experts to share insights and perspectives on major political, economic, social and industry trends, with a focus on Europe.

The TEAP is one of a number of regional advisory panels to be set up by Temasek, and will provide a platform for the investment company to regularly engage its distinguished international advisers on issues relevant to Temasek’s activities across Europe, and to facilitate closer collaboration with key business stakeholders.

Mr Lee Theng Kiat, CEO of Temasek International, said, “In an increasingly complex investment environment, our regional advisory panels would serve as valuable contributors to our thinking and appreciation of global trends, adding to our assessment of the opportunities across key markets we invest in.”

Mr Tan Chong Lee, Head, Europe, added, “While Temasek remains anchored in Asia, we recognise the significance of Europe to our overall investment strategy and activities. Our commitment to the region was reinforced in March 2014 when we established our office in London. Europe represents 8% of Temasek’s global portfolio exposure and we continue to look for opportunities to participate in the growth of sectors and companies that fit our investment themes.”

The Temasek European Advisory Panel comprises:

• Mr Patrick Cescau, Chairman of InterContinental Hotels Group, from France
• Mr Ian Davis, Chairman of Rolls-Royce, from UK
• Mr Michael Diekmann, former CEO of Allianz, from Germany
• Mr Franz Fehrenbach, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Robert Bosch GmbH, from Germany
• Mr Gabriele Galateri di Genola, Chairman of Generali, from Italy
• Dr Franz B. Humer, Chairman of Diageo plc, from Switzerland

Chairmanship of the panel will rotate with each meeting. The inaugural TEAP meeting was held in London on 19 January 2016 and the meeting chairman was Mr Ian Davis.

Temasek’s regional advisory panels will complement the Temasek International Panel (TIP). Formed in 2004, TIP consists of distinguished industry leaders whose knowledge and insights have helped shape Temasek’s strategies in a global business landscape.
