Programme Overview

The Temasek Associate Programme (TAP) is a structured early-career opportunity for high-potential graduates seeking to build a career in investing.

Designed for intellectually curious and driven individuals, the programme develops strong investment fundamentals through hands-on experience, exposure to real investment decisions and opportunities to apply analytical thinking in practice.

Programme Overview

Our Summer Associate Internship is a structured 12-week programme that offers comprehensive training and networking opportunities to prepare you for an investing career with us.

Step into the role of a generational investor and discover how ideas become investments and how investments create impact. As an Associate Intern, you will be immersed in projects, contribute to investment research and thematic work, and engage with some of the most pressing trends shaping the future. You'll gain a front-row seat to how long-term capital can drive sustainable growth, innovation, and positive outcomes for generations to come.

Recruitment Process

  • Step 1: Apply Online

Begin your candidate journey by submitting your application via our Careers Page. Application timelines vary by region, so keep an eye out for the one that aligns with your interest and eligibility.

  • Step 2: Online Assessments and Video Interview

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a series of structured assessments, which will include cognitive and personality assessments, as well as a video interview. Take this opportunity to articulate your motivations, experiences, and interest in investing.

  • Step 3: Case Study and Final Interviews

Successful candidates will be invited to this round, where you will complete a case study and engage in discussions with the investment professionals. You will also meet the Organisation & People (O&P) colleagues for a more in-depth discussion on your career aspirations and fit with Temasek.

  • Step 4: Offer

Our Teams

Anchored in Singapore with a global presence across 9 countries, we invest across growth and mature markets with a long-term horizon. As active stewards, we engage our portfolio companies to enhance shareholder value and deliver good sustainable returns over the long term.

To deliver on this, we are organised into four entities, each with a distinct mandate.

Temasek Singapore (TSG)

TSG focuses on the active portfolio management and stewardship of our Singapore-based Temasek Portfolio Companies (TPCs).

As an active shareholder, our TSG team partners with our TPCs to drive transformation, capital discipline, and long-term value creation, helping them to be globally competitive while staying rooted in Singapore.

Temasek Global Investments (TGI)

TGI focuses on Global Direct Investments in emerging and established market leaders across minority equity positions, co-investments, public markets, and selective control transactions. TGI includes our Direct Investment teams which comprise Sectors and Markets teams.

The Sectors teams are broadly organised into industry clusters. They are:

Temasek Partnership Solutions (TPS)

TPS focuses on managing capital allocation to funds, building strategic relationships with partners and co-investors, and working with Seviora Holdings as our main Asset Management Platform, to deepen and grow asset management capabilities, scale capital, and access specialised strategies.

Temasek International (TI)

TI anchors Temasek’s group and corporate functions which provide global enterprise-wide horizontal capabilities that shape enterprise priorities, enable the business strategies of TSG, TGI, and TPS, and safeguard the organisation. 

TI translates top-down macro and risk perspectives into our capital allocation and portfolio decisions. This complements bottom-up investment decisions by TSG, TGI, and TPS.

TI also sets common governance, operating, and risk frameworks; builds institutional capabilities; and delivers shared services to enable performance and growth for all the entities.

Our Portfolio Strategy & Risk Group provides top-down guidance on strategic direction and portfolio objectives, translating macro and risk perspectives into capital allocation and portfolio decisions. The group actively explores overlay and alternative portfolio strategies to enhance portfolio returns.

Sustainability Group
